League Supports 10 Warrant Articles at Town Meeting

The League of Women Voters of Sudbury urges Sudbury voters to attend the Annual Town Meeting and participate as citizen legislators.

Town meeting starts Saturday, May 22, at 12:30 p.m. on the field at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. If necessary, it continues Sunday, May 23, at 12:30 p.m., with June 12-13 as rain dates.

The League supports 10 articles on the Town Meeting Warrant:

  • Article 14: funding Eversource litigation

  • Article 22: for senior tax exemption extension

  • Community Preservation Fund articles:

    • Articles 29 and 30 on playground modernization

    • Article 31 on an historic preservation plan

    • Article 32 on a housing production plan

    • Article 33 on the housing trust

    • Article 34 on Regional Housing Services Office support

    • Article 35 on reversion of funds

    • Article 36 on the Community Preservation Act budget

The League does not have positions that cover other articles, including the construction of Route 20 fire station improvement, and so cannot take a stand on those issues. We have not taken a stand on other articles where we felt we did not have sufficient information at the time.

For more information on local, state and national LWV positions, see our Positions page.
