Radha Gargeya, Lisa Kouchakdjian, and Kevin Matthews have filed their intention ("pulled papers") to run for Select Board in the March 31 Annual Town Election. Carol Bradford filed to run for Board of Health and William Granger Atkeson filed to run for Park and Recreation.

Kouchakdjian, a member of the Select Board, is seeking re-election. She has previously served as chair of the Sudbury School Committee.

Gargeya, former chair of the Lincoln-Sudbury School Committee, currently serves as chair of the Sudbury 250 Committee, which was established by the Select Board to plan Sudbury’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolution.

Matthews currently serves on the Lincoln-Sudbury School Committee, which he has also chaired. Matthews has served on the committee since 2010 but is not seeking re-election to that job.

With three prospective candidates for two seats on the Select Board, this race could be contested if all candidates return their nomination papers by the deadline and the signatures on those papers are certified by the Town Clerk.

Bradford, who is a longtime member and current chair of the Board of Health, is seeking re-election. She has previously served as the lead nurse for the Sudbury Public Schools.

Atkeson is seeking re-election to Park and Recreation. Atkeson was elected in 2024 to fill a vacancy created by a resignation and is now running for a full three-year term.

There are 13 open positions on this year’s Annual Town Election ballot. Any Sudbury registered voter may run for office. Prospective candidates do not need permission from a board or committee to run.

You can find a complete list of open positions here. You can find information about how to run for office here, and resources to support a run for office here.

The period for prospective candidates to file their intention to run is from Monday, Jan. 6 to Thursday, Feb. 6. Nomination papers (“signatures”) must be returned by Feb. 10.

According to the Town Clerk’s office and L-S District Clerk, as of 4:30 p.m. Jan. 6, the following people have filed their intention to run:
